Computer Class graduates two students

The Salvation Army Community & Family Services Centre has just graduated two more students from its Computer Literacy Training Program.

Approximately one year ago, the Computer Literacy Training Program at our centre was started. It is a crucial part of our Employment Skills Programs and arose because of an evident need on the part of our clients. Many of our clients are seeking assistance in getting back to work. Many are bright, articulate, and eager to work. But they cannot get back into today's workforce because they lack computer skills. This is where we step in.

Our program is broken down into three level - basic, intermediate, and advanced courses. We teach Microsoft Office, web design, e-mail, and other important computer skills. Our program is registered with the Private Post Secondary Education Commission of BC and currently is licensed by the City of Victoria to accommodate 16 students.
